A charger management system is the cloud-based software that runs an EV charging network. It connects to chargers over OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol), authorizes drivers, processes payments, balances electrical load across multiple stations, monitors uptime, sends alerts when something fails, and reports revenue and energy usage. Without a CMS, a charger is just a switched outlet — it can't accept payments, can't balance load, can't tell you if it's broken. eMÖTEN is our CMS, included with every MÖTEN charger and available as a SaaS subscription for any OCPP-compliant charger brand.

Yes. The CMS subscription is free for as long as you own the MÖTEN charger — across all three tiers. AURIGA (fleet, condo, workplace deployments) has no subscription, no transaction fees, and no activation fee. CARINA (hotel, parking, retail) has no subscription and no activation fee, with a $0.50 per-session transaction fee on monetized stations. SAGITTA (public charging and DC fast charging) has no subscription and no activation fee, with a $1.00 per-session transaction fee on monetized stations. There is no monthly floor on any MÖTEN HW Buyer tier — these terms are exclusive to MÖTEN hardware purchases.

Yes — any charger that speaks OCPP 1.6J or OCPP 2.0.1 will connect, including most major commercial charger brands and several dozen smaller manufacturers. CMS-Only pricing for non-MÖTEN hardware uses the same three tiers: AURIGA (fleet, condo, workplace L2) is per-port subscription on a commit ladder — $9.99 per port per month on a 5-year commit, $11.99 on a 3-year, $12.99 on a 1-year, plus a $49.50 one-time per-port activation fee. CARINA (hotel, parking, retail L2) has no subscription, $0.50 per-session transaction fee, plus a $99.50 one-time per-port activation fee. SAGITTA (public charging, DCFC) has no subscription, $1.00 per-session transaction fee, plus a $149.50 one-time per-port activation fee.

DLB lets multiple chargers share a single electrical service intelligently. If your panel has 200A available and four 80A chargers are installed, DLB scales each session up and down so the site never trips the main breaker — even if all four cars plug in at once. eMÖTEN supports site-level DLB (one site, many chargers), fleet DLB (one operator, many sites), and demand-charge management (curtailing power when the site approaches its monthly demand peak). Without DLB, most operators have to oversize their electrical service or stagger sessions manually.

You own your data. Charger telemetry, session records, driver lists, and revenue data belong to your account and can be exported to CSV at any time across all tiers. REST API access for ERP/CRM integration is included on the SAGITTA tier. We do not sell driver data, and we do not share aggregate data with third parties without explicit consent. If you cancel, your data is exported and deleted within 90 days per our retention policy. PIPEDA and GDPR compliant.

Yes, on the CARINA and SAGITTA tiers. White-label includes a custom-branded driver app (your logo, your colors, your domain), branded charger UI screens at the kiosk, and branded receipts. The SAGITTA tier also includes a custom subdomain (like charging.yourbrand.com) and the option to publish to your own Apple App Store and Google Play developer accounts. AURIGA tier offers co-branding only — your logo on the eMÖTEN-branded app.

No. MÖTEN hardware is not locked to eMÖTEN — every unit ships with standard OCPP 1.6J / 2.0.1 firmware and will connect to any compliant CMS, whether eMÖTEN or any third-party platform. If you cancel eMÖTEN and switch backends, you point your chargers at the new endpoint URL and they reconnect. We do not believe in hardware lock-in. The hope is you stay because eMÖTEN is the best value, not because you can't leave.

Most sites are live in 24 to 48 hours from signup. The flow: sign up, point your chargers at the eMÖTEN endpoint URL, verify the OCPP handshake in the dashboard, configure pricing and access rules, optionally white-label the driver app. For larger fleets (50+ chargers), we provide a free onboarding engineer for the first month — they handle bulk imports, integrate with your ERP, and validate DLB rules before go-live.

The AURIGA CMS-Only tier is commit-only — 1-year at $12.99/port/month, 3-year at $11.99/port/month, or 5-year at $9.99/port/month — to keep per-port rates low and predictable. The 5-year commit gets the best rate. Onboarding a fleet, condo, or workplace deployment typically involves driver enrollment, ERP integration, and DLB tuning — work that pays back over a multi-year horizon, not a single month. Customers who want to evaluate the platform before committing can start with a 30-day sandbox trial, which is no-cost and no-credit-card.
